Blazer.

Esistono due diverse teorie che raccontano l'origine del blazer.

La prima, adatta ai romantici sognatori, racconta che verso la metà del 1800 il generale britannico H.M.S. Blazer si stancò del modo di vestire del proprio equipaggio e ordinò di cucire una giacca a righe bianche e blu, a cui vennero applicati dei bottoni con lo stemma della marina reale.

La giacca piacque molto alla regina Vittoria e diventò così la divisa di ogni equipaggio.

La seconda teoria, adatta ai fashionisti pragmatici, si rifà alla derivazione etimologica dal verbo to blaze, ("brillare") poichè originariamente la giacca era realizzata con tessuti brillanti.

The second theory, suitable for pragmatic fashionistas , refers to the etymological derivation from the verb to blaze, because the jacket was originally made ​​with bright fabrics.
